Nektarios Samolis was was born and brought up in the village Aimonas in the precinct of Mylopotamos, Crete He finished Tertiary education in Heraklion. .
At the age of 8 he started playing the mandolin initially but quickly got attracted by the lyra. He has performed at many places around Greece like Thessaloniki, Alexandroupoli, Komotini, Rhodes, Patras and is regurarly on stage many times in Athens as well.
He has also performed in many other countries as well like Germany, USA, Canada and Australia. It also worth to mention his participation in the Eastern Mediterranean Folk Music Festival held in Avignon, France, as a representative of Crete.

He has also participated in the cd ‘Diakritika’ (Discreetly) which inincluded in the book with the same title written by George Karatzi, in Giorgos Vitoros’ cd ‘Kriton pathi” (Passions of Cretans)and finally cd ‘Protofanistikos sevntas’ (First Love) of Antoni and Michali Fragkiadaki playing the mandolin. Nektarios also distributed a live cd which was included in the Cretan magazine “Xatheri”.
In 2017 the song”Ta kleidia (the keys)” and later on in 2018 another song “Kseniariko“. Music this time belongs to Dimitri Prinari, and the lyrics to Nektarios.
In November 2019 an new song was released tilted “Milie mou (talk to me)” . Music and the first verse belong to Giorgo Varda and the second verse belongs to Despina Spantidaki.
